		<description>No they shouldn&#039;t unless they are on a call they need to follow the same rules as everyone else.  My friend called once to complain about this very thing and she was told that it might have been for one of two reasons (a) a call was issued then canceled ~or~ (b) an incorrect code was given and then corrected.  There is also the possibility if it was a busy intersection that the officer may have been on their way to a &#039;silent&#039; roll but had to clear that intersection to continue -- this will happen a lot.</description>

		<description>Yes, it&#039;s safer when going through a red light for them to employ their lights/sirens, but when getting to the actual call sometimes it&#039;s better not to go in all flashy. They could technically go through a red light without their lights but it&#039;s not as safe for everybody so they&#039;ll probably use lights.</description>
